I. INTRODUCTION
As if having dreams about Justin Trudeau wasn’t bad enough, last night I had a dream about Steve Bannon and Epstein.
They are basically lucid dreams where I’m having the same thoughts I would have during waking life in preparation for a show. Probably an indication I should “disconnect” for a bit.
But alas, I have never been capable of “disconnecting”, even as a practicing lawyer.
Marion and I were talking a couple of days ago about the “dopamine” hit that we get when accomplishing tasks. She asked what I got my dopamine hits from - not because she didn’t know, but because she wanted me to reflect.
Bowling, exercise, and good legal / political / investigative analysis that gets traction because of its value.
Throw in family time in there as well.
Albeit proportions might be a little skewed towards living / breathing legal and political madness for the better part of waking, and now apparently sleeping, life.
Parentheses closed.
in the dream, I was asking Bannon why he was seemingly participating in the “rehabilitation” of Epstein.
Did they have a prior relationship? Did Epstein coerce Bannon‘s expertise? Was Bannon paid for his “expertise”? Did he need the money at the time? Was he inspired by the “challenge” of the “task”
Did he do it out of friendship or loyalty? or punctual opportunism?
I never got any answers in the dream, not that it would’ve made any difference.
And not that any of the answers would have been good answers. Even if Bannon possesses a set of skills that could be used to prepare someone for rehabilitation, using that expertise on someone like Jeffrey Epstein turns those tools into weapons.
I am curious to hear what Bannon has to say about it, though he has not said anything publicly yet as far as I can tell.
Just the good life lesson that picking good friends is just as important as picking good enemies.
Fin.
I did a quick hit on Richard Syrette yesterday. Gotta keep Canadians apprised of the U.S. madness.
