Funny story when I was doing my Masters in Israel, I lived near the home of Gadi Eisenkot when he was still Chief of Staff. When I passed by, I would make memorable poses to the camera outside his house.
"Former prime minister Naftali Bennett met today with former MK Gadi Eisenkot as they both continue to explore their political futures, their spokespeople say.
According to a Bennett spokesman, the pair discussed “new leadership” for the country and have held other meetings over the past few weeks as part of their “coordinated efforts to replace the government.”
Recordings were released earlier Sunday of comments Bennett made at a conference on Thursday, where he tore into current government ministers and outlined his plans to run for office on a united slate.

“I have a role, and that is to unite the various centrist parties. We’ll talk to [Yisrael Beytenu party chairman Avigdor] Liberman, to Eisenkot, and get everyone into one big party,” he said, telling the conference that their role is to “convince everyone to vote for this party and win a clear and decisive majority.”
Eisenkot was the former number 2 in Benny Gantz’s Blue and White party before he resigned in June, and has since been sharply critical of his former boss, urging him to step down and pave the way for an alternative slate."

With 86 percent of the votes counted, the center-left Fuerza Patria coalition has taken 46% of the vote against nearly 34% for Milei’s ruling La Libertad Avanza, voting authorities announce.

"Lebanon’s leading Christian party on Sunday urged Hezbollah to hand its weapons to the state, as the army prepares to implement a disarmament plan.
The Iran-backed group has been severely weakened by a year-long conflict with Israel, including two months of open war, that destroyed part of its arsenal and decimated its leadership.
Under pressure from the United States, the Lebanese government in August ordered the military to prepare a plan to disarm the group by the year’s end..."

"The majority of Israelis, 80%, have overwhelmingly negative opinions of the United Nations, according to a Pew Research Center study conducted in Israel in early 2025.
The center’s methodology involved asking participants a series of questions and having them rate their views on a scale from "very unfavorable" to "very favorable" or from “very helpful” to “very harmful,” with the intent of tracking public opinion regarding the UN.
80% of all participants shared an unfavorable view of the UN. 51% reported very unfavorable views, highlighting the strong feelings of many participants..."
