Art of the Day

I. INTRODUCTION

A. Art of the Day: A portrait of the Vimana, a legendary flying chariot “like a bright cloud in the sky” described in ancient India texts, here carried by a great Dove. Graham Hancock & others think this allegorically refers to lost technology of lost civilizations.

B. Wisdom of the Day: “Live as if you were to die tomorrow. Learn as if you were to live forever.” Mahatma Gandhi.

C. Cultural Recommendation: A useful history of the India perspective — the history of the infamous East India Company. https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/42972023-the-anarchy

Appearance on Richard Syrette

I did a quick hit on Richard Syrette yesterday. Gotta keep Canadians apprised of the U.S. madness.

It’s not a torn rotator cuff…

Just went to the doctor today. Apparently my shoulder pain is not a torn rotator cuff, but bursitis!

The doc said to take an Advil and not do push-ups.

Anyone got any other home remedies?

It was actually amazing how he diagnosed it. He asked me to do a few arm movements, then said it’s definitely not a rotator cuff. Then he put his thumb on a very specific point on the back of my shoulder blade and pushed, and caused excruciating pain.

Oddly enough, that pain was far from where I’m feeling the pain in my shoulder, but apparently it’s the swelling that causes shooting pain down where I noticed it in my shoulder.

Everything else is good. Blood pressure good. Weight good.

Just a raging hypochondriac.

Good thing JD didn't attend the disastrous tech bro /Bill Gates dinner last night as that would have ruined his reputation. Like Bannon said 80% of Americans hate the tech bros.

B. Art of the Day: In the spirit of Henri Cartirer-Bresson with its black-and-white imagery in the working class alleyways of Dublin where kids play without fear or safe spaces, the shadows dancing in opposite directions, that directional pull that brings me into photos of real life aesthetically and artistically expressed.

C. Wisdom of the Day: “We’re fighting for Main Street, not Wall Street. We reject globalism and embrace patriotism.” Donald Trump.

D. Cultural Recommendation: The Corporation, and its soulless character. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0379225/?ref_=ls_t_4

B. Art of the Day: Meme Masters

A meme we’re adding to the 1776LawCenter’s Rolodex of excellent memes for merch, the simple, elegant Don’t Tread On Me from the American revolution against the silhouette of the Amish farmer.

C. Wisdom of the Day: Joel Salatin

“We’ve got the cultural mentality that you’ve got to be an idiot to be a farmer.” Joel Salatin.

D. Cultural Recommendation: Everything I Want To Do Is Illegal

I. INTRODUCTION

A. Art of the Day: The curved Victorian couch under the open window, with the kerosene lamp before the moonlit azure sky, the TV on behind as welcome rest beckons. The firmness of these old curved couches reminds of what furniture was once reliably made with style and to be steady and strong as a structure, but also to serve a function beyond appearance or aesthetic for something as fundamental as rest.

B. Wisdom of the Day:  “He understood that the foreign aid game was a sham - he had to know. It existed to make him rich and to shackle his country with debt.” John Perkins, Confession of an Economic Hit Man.

C. Cultural Recommendation: The Debt Trap. Critics of the IMF proved prescient. https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/1865314.The_debt_trap?
