Post-Truth & Conspiracy Psychosis World

We have entered the post-truth, conspiracy psychosis world.

There is not truth.

Everything is an unfalsifiable conspiracy. And it makes everyone less reliable.

MTG posted this (only the first image). "I thought masks deploy when a plane nosedives to 14,000 feet". The underlying suggestion being... it didn't happen? It didn't happen as we're being told? It was a set-up?

By all accounts, the plane did rapidly descend. Unless all amateur / aviation enthusiasts are wrong and the actual data trackers are wrong.

And many will come to that conclusion to make the "false flag" true even if it means contradicting "demonstrable" facts. "I don't believe the actual data". Ok, unfalsifiable.

Descending 17,000 feet in 2 minutes is not a nose dive. It's massively more of a descent than standard (3 percent descent normal vs. 10 to 16 percent, if over the course of +/- 2 minutes.

According to some data enthusiasts, the descent occurred in 30 seconds. Even more of a wild plunge (gettin closer to a "nosedive" ), but predicated on the fact that it did happen.

Apparently masks don't deploy unless there's a loss of cabin pressure.

But then people look at a glass of water (not MTG - yet... lol) and say "look at that water, how could it still be there after such a plunge"

From what I understand, it is possible for the water not to spill - like the way a cup of coffee doesn't spill during a barrel roll. Though I would have greater difficulty believe that.

But blind "skepticism" literally causes people to become to become less intelligent by not even asking the logical questions - like timing,.

When was the picture with the cup in it taken?

I think I found a picture clearly from after the incident but before the men in bloodied shirts entered. So maybe someone poured a glass of water after things stabilized and while the men were tying up / treating the pilot and co-pilot?

That's even for those who got to this point of questioning, instead of just resigning to "it couldn't have happened" based on faulty premises.

And blind skepticism causing people to stop asking basic questions and making basic observations.

People circling the shoes as if to say... I'm not sure. Actors who forgot their costumes?

Except the people in the 3rd and 4th image are clearly not the same basewd on hair and facial hair.

But the internet has already run with it and people are now invested in their misinformation - because they helped spread it.

It's a post-truth world, and it's getting less intelligent.

end rant.

No happy ending for the chick

We did a methodical surgical manual shell opening of the chick that started pipping yesterday…

we gave it a full 24 hours, and there had been no movement for the last six.

Upon opening, the chick was no longer among the living.

It did not look fully developed. Hard to tell until the feathers dry off because the first two looked like total aliens immediately after they hatched.

But this one’s eyes did not look fully developed. It didn’t have very many feathers on it . Probably nothing we could have done even had we assisted cracking the egg immediately when we noticed pipping yesterday.

The only good news: some lizard or snake or resident opossum is going to get a midnight snack. We put the chick on the berm (where we put other dead fish), and I suspect it will be gone by morning.

It was an interesting experience. Totally incredible the process of life.

But alas, life is only for the fortunate.
