Pearl Harbor — December 7, 1941 — “A Date Which Will Live In Infamy”

https://www.lewrockwell.com/lrc-blog/pearl-harbor-december-7-1941-a-date-which-will-live-in-infamy/

The video below, Sacrifice At Pearl Harbor is in seven parts.

This authoritative and suspenseful documentary takes you inside the secret activities of the Americans, the British and the Japanese as each nation moved fatefully toward the “date that will live in infamy.” For nearly 85 years, the world has believed President Franklin D. Roosevelt’s declaration that the Pearl Harbor attack was a completely unexpected assault on a neutral nation.

Sacrifice at Pearl Harbor tells another, hidden story – using actual recording of intercepted diplomatic communications, declassified government documents, archival footage and interviews with diplomats and spies from around the world. We now know that intelligence operatives from the US and three Allied nations monitored the Japanese fleet’s progress on its deadly mission to Oahu in late 1941. Yet neither Admiral Kimmel nor General Short received a word of warning that might have allowed them to avert the sacrifice of 4,000 American casualties in less than 90 minutes.

I have always believed that the shocking information revealed in the interview with reporter Joe Leib is “the smoking gun” in the Pearl Harbor story, even more so than the McCollum Memorandum, the “East Wind Rain” (“Higashi no kaze ame”) radio message, or the pre-attack decoding of JN-25 transcripts.

The most annoying ad ever

The new Apple ad is so bad, it’s beyond words.

1) All the women are smart leaders.
2) The men are either dumb brutes, or emasculated eunuchs.
3) Who the heck needs a recipe for French toast?
4) That dad's beard is 3 months old. When was the last time he spoke with his parents?
5) The daughter is getting involved in an interracial relationship.
6) The daughter's boyfriend is also a brute, checking his own body odor at the door.
7) The wife is in control of the thermostat... THE WIFE?!?!?
8) They just leave the kitchen as a disaster. I guess dad will clean that up while his wife presents the Board budget.

9) What does this product do, and what product does it replace? It's basically a desktop cell phone.

10) NOBODY WALKED THE DOG!!!

A natural treasure in the most discrete places

We got this microscope. It’s amazing.

Look at the treasure, we found in a tiny puddle of water in the leaf of an agave plant.

Andy Harris had a rough night

There is a viral video going around of Andy Harris (Republican representative for Maryland’s 1sr Congressional District) in which he tries to blame the prices of diesel on Democrat “environmental regulations”.

After the crowd starts laughing, he goes on a tirade.

I needed to find the clip in context.

The context does not make it any better.

Do he not understand what he looks like when he berates the very people he is asking to vote for him?

Also, no one is going to buy that answer.

If he sincerely believed his answer, he would not get upset at people for laughing at it.

I did a quick hit on Richard Syrette yesterday. Gotta keep Canadians apprised of the U.S. madness.

Art of the Day: Wednesday, October 14, 2026

The day starts and finishes in the shadows, the pre-dawn or post-sunset cafe, reminding me of my youth opening my grandparents' diner before the area awoke raising the awnings before the sun rose to welcome the day. Each person embraced within their own thoughts, the contemplative character of their poses counterbalanced by the sense of movement and community in their shadows against the wall. A beginning of the day, a commencement of the night, all merged and married into one.

A. Art of the Day
  • Another artistic expression of my own self-impression, the contemplative thought of looking out into the world through the oversized window amidst the shadows of dark and light, in between them both, uncovering and discovering along the way, a singular, solo figure in the space empty of objects but full of opportunities, sparse in materials but rich in ideas, waiting to be realized.
