White Hatred, Replacement, Extermination: The Atrocious Lies of History, The White Holocaust of Germany and Gen. Eisenhower's Death Camps.

Killing 9.3 - 13.7 Million Germans AFTER WWII.
..."it is hard to escape the conclusion that Gen. Dwight Eisenhower was a war criminal of epic proportions. His (DEF) policy killed more Germans in peace than were killed in the European Theater." [2008] Eisenhower's Holocaust - His Slaughter Of 1.7 Million Germans.

His best estimate is that some three million Germans, military and civilians, died unnecessarily AFTER the official end of hostilities. A million of these were men who were being held as prisoners of war, most of whom died in Soviet captivity. (Of the 90,000 Germans who surrendered at Stalingrad, for example, only 5,000 ever returned to their homeland.) Less well known is the story of the many thousands of German prisoners who died in American and British captivity, most infamously in horrid holding camps along the Rhine river, with no shelter and very little food. Others, more fortunate, toiled as slave labor in Allied countries, often for years.
Most of the two million German civilians who perished after the end of the war were women, children and elderly -- victims of disease, cold, hunger, suicide, and mass murder.
Apart from the wide-scale rape of millions of German girls and woman in the Soviet occupation zones, perhaps the most shocking outrage recorded by MacDonogh is the slaughter of a quarter of a million Sudeten Germans by their vengeful Czech compatriots.
According to Bacque, given the extraordinarily harsh conditions imposed upon them by the Allies (the British, French, Soviets, and Americans), at least 9.3 million and possibly as many as 13.7 million Germans, had, by 1950, needlessly died as a result.
A Review of James Bacque's "Crimes and Mercies: The Fate of German Civilians Under Allied Occupation 1944-1950" by Eric Blair.

And yes I got stung….

I don't often post about my personal life outside of updates on my dog but here is a rare exception.

This past Friday my first child was born, a baby boy called Everett. Currently in NICU with him but he is doing well, he had slightly elevated breathing and they thought maybe he had an infection (he doesn't).

Nothing quite brings things in to perspective than having a child. Everything else really takes a back seat. Also the nurses are amazing.

I won't be sharing photos, trying to keep this little guy off social media for as long as possible. He is unbelievable adorable though.

The Barnes Brief, Weekend of May 29, 2026

BRIEF

I. THE INTRODUCTION

A. Art of the Day
  • The Battle of Bunker Hill, by early American artist John Trumbull, a battle the British managed to lose while winning. By holding off the British as long as they did, the Americans seized the narrative and strategic victory. Legend grew of a young farmer turned Colonel of the Minute Men, promising to hold the Hill or periosh trying for at least one more night, with the famous phrase echoed: “Don’t Fire Boys Till You See the Whites of Their Eyes”, or at least legend would have it. I admit my fondness for the legend with its Sun Tsu style proverbial wisdom, but also for a more direct reason: Colonel Prescott was a great, great granddaddy of mine.

  • “Don’t Fire Till You See the Whites of Their Eyes.” Colonel Prescott, according to legend.

The Barnes Brief: Thursday, May 28, 2026

I. THE INTRODUCTION

A. Art of the Day

  • Another historic portrait of George Washington, evoking a time and place, as he prays in the snow by his horse in Valley Forge where fellow revolutionaries nearly starved or froze to death. More than a few fellow Barnes joined him there, including several direct ancestors. Amidst the difficulties of weather and war, Washington took the time to pray, a reminder of our own limitations and capabilities of courage to survive against the longest of odds.

B. Wisdom of the Day
  • "The nation which indulges toward another an habitual hatred or an habitual fondness is in some degree a slave. It is a slave to its animosity or to its affection, either of which is sufficient to lead it astray from its duty and its interest.” George Washington.

I. INTRODUCTION

A. Art of the Day
  • A painting gifted down the generations to my mother shared Stuart’s famous portrait of George Washington, whose eyes I could swear moved with me across the room as a kid. One must behave when George Washington is watching you and, just as much, fell inspired to act when he watches over you.

B. Wisdom of the Day
  •  "I hope I shall possess firmness and virtue enough to maintain what I consider the most enviable of all titles, the character of an honest man.” George Washington.
