I was born in 1972 and have watched decades of war, intervention, and conflict unfold across the world. To my sorrow, much of it has involved my own country in one way or another.
I love America. That is exactly why I am tired of seeing endless conflict carried out in our name.
Most ordinary Americans are not asking to be feared by the world. We want our nation to be a shining light — strong, principled, and respected for wisdom, restraint, and peace, not viewed as a harbinger of doom for those who disagree with us.
What citizens want, what political elites to pursue, and what powerful lobbying interests demand are often not the same thing.
People everywhere largely want the same things: safety for their families, dignity, opportunity, and peace. America should lead by example, not by perpetual conflict.
True strength is not found only in military power. Sometimes it is found in restraint, humility, and the courage to pursue peace.
I follow my God and he requires me not to harm the innocent or downtrodden. Those who do harm them, I will oppose, politically and in person if needed.
