I am sure you have heard. This is a real post from Trump on Truth.

I have been saying that setting aside everything - it is just bad negotiating. The usual sycophants saying "It's the art of he deal. As for 100, settle for 50m win!" not understanding that threatening to do what you know you cannot is not howe you get there.

Threatening to end a whole civilization is something we know Trump cannot do. Or that if he does it, it would be the end of a great many things.

So purely tactically, it's just bad strategy.

But the sycophants... The same ones who said "It's not a war" are now saying "Trump won't nuke Iran", and this after a month of war that they still refuse to acknowledge as war.

I was saying this to someone a minute ago: I don't expect to get credit for being intellectually honest, intellectually consistent, and independant in thought ands spirit.

But the amount of people who have done 180's on themselves in less than a year, and their goober followers just swallowing it all up...

it's not a war, just strikes.
Ok, it's a war, but very short.
Ok, it might go on for months, but no boots on the ground.
Ok, boots on the ground, cuz how else are you suppoed to fight?
From Iran can't have nukes, to Iran can't have missiles, to Iran can't have drones, to regime change in Iran, but it's also not regime change.

And now, those intellectually dishonest folk who are out of breath chasing the goalposts are now defending a post that is, in my humble opinion, indefensible, on the basis that Trump won't actually end an entire civilization.

And the mutually conflicting rationales.

"Of course it's just hyperbole, that's how Trump is"

"But he's unpredictable, so you never know"

"And Trump never bluffs!"

This is Covid madness all over again.

This is Ukraine madness all over again.

People have not learned.

And they refuse to admit they are trying to catch a falling knife.

Gambler's fallacy: The more they lose, the more the gamble, and the more they justify the loss. "Well, it was a hard eleven. I HAD to double down".

Not sure I feel any better but I had to share my frustration with the best community on the internet.
