An administration coming off the rails...

Bordering on getting despaired by where this administration is going...

When RFK Jr. announced he was running, he observed that a nation at war abroad can never be at peace at home.

This is the inevitable consequence of prioritizing (or appearing to prioritize) foreign policy over domestic.

Another shooting in Minnesota. And Democrats / Walz / Frey are going to love it. Democrats already using it to leverage negotiations on budget. Never let a crisis go to waste.

Anyone who brings a gun to "document" / protest ICE operations is looking for trouble. But that doesn't mean the trouble they find, though predicable, will be justified in law.

But irreversible trouble was found. As of the best info right now, it looks like in the melée, the man was disarmed, apparently that was not made sufficiently clear to everyone, the gun apparently discharged, and the man was shot dead.

Hindsight is 20/20, but it's also easy to see beyond the curve with sufficient elevation.

These ICE operations are chaos, by design and by instigation. Frey not creating protest zones, Walz encouraging "war" against the Fed, you will have idiots doing idiotic things and suffering catastrophic consequences.

And the Dems will love it. The more grotesque, the more it will be politically profitable.

And Pam Bondi, like a walking meme, going on Fox news talking about he "strong letter" to Walz. Yes, she actually literally did the meme.

Cordons needs to be established for these ICE operations. Perimeters.

I don't know if you need to declare the Insurrection Act to set up secure perimeters, but if that is what is required, it needs to be done. Haste makes waste, and in these cases, haste is literally resulting in waste - of human lives and political capital.

It would be better to have a militarized - but organized - image of ICE operations that this - what appear to be bungling agents in total chaos apparently shooing a disarmed man in the back.

And now you have the right using the left's terminology - "military style pistol" to try and paint this guys as a terrorist of sorts. Maybe he went out looking for a fight. And maybe his plan was to attack ICE agents,.

What we do know is what happened. There will be investigations. As they say, if you're explaining you are losing. Having some promoting outright untenable narratives that border on pure propaganda is not going to work.

And having lawyers opine that in theory, in the kerfuffle, it's a "clean shot" or close enough, might win an intellectual exercise but it is a political loss.

One wheel after another seems to be coming off. Focus has been lost. And it's getting very disconcerting that the political persuasion is now relying on bullying, strong-arming and brow-beating, instead of actual execution of agenda and meaningful political wins.

This too shall pass.

Off for a jog.

  • From a board member, the liveliness in this photograph, balancing and blending nature to the inner surroundings, the warm, thick, colorful carpet above stone floors, the brick-made walls below the wooden beam roof (reminding me of the old homes on the little island in the center of Paris), the broad windows embracing the light, the flowers percolating throughout, the spices along the shelves, the pillowed chair waiting, all so natural, so human, so inviting.
