Beautiful and majestic until the end

The deed is done. It was only after her body had totally relaxed that I could appreciate the constant pain and discomfort she must have been in for the last little while. we sat out on the grass for an hour before I went live today. it was clear she was in visible discomfort, but she remained stoic and majestic up until the end.

on the way to the vet, we stopped and got a “pup cup” at Starbucks. Is that what they’re called? The kids wanted to do it and give her one last treat. She never really got many treats in the last few years because it would upset her stomach and make the poop she would invariably leave in her bed messier to clean up.

She had 2 cups of whipped cream.

We sat as a family and wept together as she quietly closed her eyes and became part of the cosmos once again.

I don’t even say this as a joke… If your last memories are what echo forever, she is in a field with us, running around with all four legs, jumping through the grass into the setting sun.

Going to go bowling now. Will try to get strikes in between wiping away tears. Lol

Cousin Eddy Explains!

Cousin Eddy is our resident commercial airline pilot.

I ask him EVERYTHING about what we know about the flyDubai incident.

It was obviously an amazing and insightful discussion.

Week one of life

Despite the failed hatch yesterday, our two chicks are growing beautifully.

We also went back to the farm today and got eight more likely fertilized silky chicken eggs. We’re going to document this one from beginning to end!

Appearance on Richard Syrette

I did a quick hit on Richard Syrette yesterday. Gotta keep Canadians apprised of the U.S. madness.

5K veteran support race this morning

Marion and I did the annual 5K devil dog wounded veteran relief fund race.

Official time is not yet in, but I think I may have gotten exactly the same time I got last year, virtually to the second. Clocked out at exactly 22 minutes, but I think I started three seconds late. We’ll see.

Now I’m going to go run the 1 mile kids race with Ethan.

A. Art of the Day

Another artistic expression of my own self-impression, the contemplative thought of looking out into the world through the oversized window amidst the shadows of dark and light, in between them both, uncovering and discovering along the way, a singular, solo figure in the space empty of objects but full of opportunities, sparse in materials but rich in ideas, waiting to be realized.

B. Wisdom of the Day

A. Art of the Day

The mirrored reflection creating a paralleled world above and below, the fearsome crocodile coasting in the waterways made from centuries ago, a reminder of the power of the past and the potential of the present in the majestic ancient animal of our past and potential.

B. Wisdom of the Day

“Animal communication is like any other form of telepathic, intuitive conversation. The thoughts and feelings of people and animals carry energetic signatures, communicated through very primal, nonverbal channels.” Elizabeth Eiler.
