Why Barnes Is Right And We Should Oppose Trump's Executive Order Giving Our State/Local Government The Authority To Incarcerate Bums And Crazy People - A Personal Story

I am Divorced; my ex-Wife wanted a child and to her disappointment, a Husband came as part of the package. We got into an argument, (one of many) and she pushed me, so I pushed back; she called the Cops. Whether you believe me or not is not important to the point, so just roll with it; okay?

Trusting the Authorities, I waited for their arrival and left handcuffed. Turns out, at that time, North Carolina Law Enforcement made lots of money by arresting Men accused of abuse - lots of money! I was in the system now and I could not get out of the system without sign off from people who knew full well they held my Liberty in their hands!! < one should never underestimate how powerful this is to some people who lust after such authority >

After more than two years of a six month Re-Education Program I was able to return to a Judge to plea for my limited Liberty. When I handed my paperwork to the Judge, she noted with surprise that I was still required to attend Re-Education Classes via "the old form"! You see, the Woman in charge of this Agency, (who had been replaced) attended this court hearing to voice her opinion that I should not graduate as I never got it! Yes, I'd never seen this Woman before being forced to attend these classes, (which she did not even teach) but her hatred towards me was unbelievably strong! < I could tell you stories of the idiocy they were promoting, but that would distract from the point >

The Judge would not allow her to speak noting that she no longer held any position with this Agency. The Judge was also shocked at how long they were able to keep me in this program!

We have to start dealing with Bums and Crazy People on our streets!! First, we need to call a spade a spade and address the truths of what places people in these positions; once we've established that, we can move forward on how to handle these problems. I used to Volunteer at a Rescue Mission in the evenings as the separation from my Son was very disturbing and this gave me an outlet that was helpful - I used to drink to handle that part of my life.

I think a better approach might be a 72 hour off-the-street in a detention facility and maybe it's time to bring Religion facilities back into the mix. But, I ain't no Lawyer and I imagine @RobertBarnes or @VivaFrei will find tons of holes in my possible solution approach...

I. INTRODUCTION

A. Art of the Day: The curved Victorian couch under the open window, with the kerosene lamp before the moonlit azure sky, the TV on behind as welcome rest beckons. The firmness of these old curved couches reminds of what furniture was once reliably made with style and to be steady and strong as a structure, but also to serve a function beyond appearance or aesthetic for something as fundamental as rest.

B. Wisdom of the Day:  “He understood that the foreign aid game was a sham - he had to know. It existed to make him rich and to shackle his country with debt.” John Perkins, Confession of an Economic Hit Man.

C. Cultural Recommendation: The Debt Trap. Critics of the IMF proved prescient. https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/1865314.The_debt_trap?

I. INTRODUCTION

A. Appearances

B. Art of the Day: The necessary reading nook, like the kind I’d try to form for myself at bookstores like Shakespeare in Paris, or for one’s residence to shape a place to disappear within, chasing the thoughts of the author and oneself, transported to other worlds made comfortable by the hugging chair, warm blankets, and surrounded books.

C. Wisdom of the Day: “To love the little platoon we belong to in society is the first principle of public affections.” Edmund Burke.

D. Cultural Recommendation: 1775: A Good Year for Revolution by Kevin Phillips. Brilliant text detailing the people, and ideas, that made the world greatest revolution arise. https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/13588422-1775
