Rage therapy is precisely the opposite of anger management. It advocates the physical expression of rage as a means of feeling better--of feeling good. This sets up the constant loop of seeking things to be angry about in order to express rage in order to feel better about yourself.

I coined the term 'recreational outrage' years ago (which, unsurprisingly, never caught on) to describe this phenomenon. Manufactured outrage (not mine) is a common term that expresses pretty much the same thing. It's the driver of the social justice warrior phenomenon. People get angry about stupid, trivial shit that doesn't matter much to anyone so that they can virtue signal their moral superiority by railing against the 'oppressors' responsible, though most of the time there is no real oppression and no one, in particular, responsible for whatever it is they choose to be pissed off about.
