I used to mass in at 365 lbs (yes we use lbs in Metricified Canada for weights, go figure) and am now in at 243 lbs today... they claim I suffer from Diabetes Type 2 and put me on insulin, yikes a horrid drug in how it made me feel but also at 330 lbs and with the insulin I put on 35 lbs in six weeks!
I thought about it and the first principle of medicine is do no harm... so (probably bad) I went fuck that and cold turkey... see what insulin does is it lets the sugar type molecules (glycogen) into your cells!
In my case (I am a sample of one person and can't speak to others responses) insulin made me fat fast!
Going off that horrid drug I lost 115 lbs in six months and got down to 250 lbs... while I have fluctuated since I am working hard to get my body mass down to 180 lbs and a moderate to low body fat percentage (under 15%).
I reached 230.8 lbs a month ago but still fluctuating... learning to cut (body builder term) I gather... now that was after a period of dry fasting (no water or food till the excess water was eliminated before eating usually after noon or so).
Anyway as a temporarily fat bodied person I enjoy the jokes about it as one has to have humor or life is dry as fuck.
Oh when I was in VGH (Vancouver General Hospital) for a week after three covid strokes in 2021 (had a month long covid with the first stroke in 2020 Feb-March but stayed away from VGH as that was the early times of ignorance with ventilators with the notable side effect of slaughtering patients).
Ok, this is old news but they sure as fuck are drug pushers for Insulin, during that week I turned down their offers to give me Insulin at least 20+ times! They were freaked out by my blood sugar being ~13 units (5-7 is "normal" ).
Eventually they send me a Diabetes Dr who had a list of about 29 different drugs. The Jardiance (Canadian brand name) worked well and with the only notable side effect of pissing the excess glycogen out more frequently and a CDN$120/month cost.
Now I have been off of that too and had one normal blood sugar test in the last year to the shock of my doctor. In her mind I need to have four tests (in a year) where it is in the "normal" range to be considered "in remission". Ok fine, so be it jedi.
Anyway they, the doctors, are sure drug pushers. Sure sometimes that will save one but is every drug needed for everyone, for you? Hmm, drugs and medicine are not my area but one was to learn otherwise I'd have been jabbed with the toxic vaccine therefor don't take any advice from me... you are warned...
Covid taught me to be very very cautious when doctors recommend any medications... but that is just me...
In the meantime I am getting exercise and eating a Keto diet (surprisingly my family MD approves of this)... and only taking meds that I deem to be safe as in "do no harm"...
