US - Canada trade war

Here’s a question not enough people are asking: Will Mark Carney‘s firm Brookfield Asset Management suffer or benefit from a US - Canada trade war?

Spoiler: The answer is benefit.

Nothing like having a cool $53 billion of assets in China and India while triggering a trade war with America.

The country where half of BAM’s assets under management are locaternvested.

It’s almost predictably diabolical.

Canada US tariff war

“We need to fight these tariffs dollar to dollar” -Doug Ford

“As Donald trump is trying to inflict pain on every Canadian, that we inflict pain right back” -Also Doug Ford

It’s amazing. He actually said this out loud.

Also, this buffoon does not seem to understand what happens when you try to fight dollar to dollar with someone who is 13 times richer than you.

Appearance on Richard Syrette

I did a quick hit on Richard Syrette yesterday. Gotta keep Canadians apprised of the U.S. madness.

Questions for Bourbon with Barnes: Tuesday, August 25, 2026

Ask in replies and answering Live at 9ish eastern tonight.

@VivaFrei You're on the list!

Mosquitoes are annoying as Hell but I don't really think they're the disease vector people think they are. They want you to believe that if a mosquito drinks your blood and there are a few microbes in there from the last person they bit you are in serious danger of some deadly disease. If, on the other hand, they take a few microbes of some pathogen and inject them into you with a hypodermic needle, they call it a vaccine and say it will keep you from getting sick.

@RobertBarnes @VivaFrei
Another bullshit release.
Who else gets this preferential treatment?

  •  Imagine breakfast here, under the glamourous ceilings, the Renneassaince frescoes, the Greek columns, the lavish wood, the ceilings to the sky, in a cafe older than out country. A good way to start your day in a place like Budapest.

A. Art of the Day
  • A different time, a different era. The suit, the dresses, the top hats, the old clocks, the decorated ceilings, the hand-crafted bars, the art deco lights, the bartender in a tux, a trip back to where even the everyday was elegant, the ordinary was glamorous, and the commonplace was anything but.
