The Closing Argument Today: Why Trump Is Legally Innocent.

Introduction: Top 10 Headlines

  • Trump to be arraigned today, without mug shot, jail visit or booking. Trump added new counsel, a corporate-type defense lawyer.
  • Polls show Trump surging to massive lead in primaries.
  • Wisconsin voters go to polls to decide fate of Wisconsin Supreme Court, with Democrat-aligned candidate as heavy favorite.
  • Texas medical board targets dissident doctors.
  • Twitter bird is gone, replaced by the Doge symbol.
  • Bombings of Russian cafes targeting bloggers celebrated by Oscar-winning Ukraine war supporters. A reminder as to who is likely culprit.
  • Replacing the $ is akin to replacing English: it requires mass adoption to work, and little sign such massive public adoption is happening.
  • ISM data shows manufacturing in recession.
  • OPEC cuts production.
  • Real construction spending declines again as consumer sentiment shows recession incoming.

My Brother in Canada

He scored something of a minor court victory for a jav injured client.

On the beach today

Had to take the kids somewhere by the beach, so went for a jog as I wait.

People watching is incredible.

Seeing people who are out of shape clearly trying to get into shape.

Seen parents playing with their kids in the ocean.

I passed the same guy every time I come to the beach.

An older man, with long silver hair wearing American flag shorts.

Every time we pass each other, he gives me the thumbs up and says “awesome!”.

He reminds me of the quintessential Hollywood Vietnam veteran. Enjoying the tranquility and beauty of the beach, contrasted with whatever his life experience was.

Who knows… he could have been a deadhead draft dodger for all I know (and I say that without judgment - I don’t think I would have gone to fight in Vietnam).

And then at the end of my jog, as a reminder of the awesomeness of nature, I captured this:

I. THE INTRODUCTION

A. Art of the Day
  • Washington Crossing the Delaware, one of the great portraits of the American revolution, captured the American spirit to this day, more than two centuries after the event and more than a century since Emanuel Leutze’s painting exhibited in 1851. The torrid current, the gusting winds, the eager soldiers furiously rowing against the rising waves, the flag itself against the elements, Washington staring ahead, no turning back. Onward only!

B. Wisdom of the Day
