My first lesson of Brazilian jujitsu

I went to a place called the Valente Brothers in North Miami. Got a one-on-one first class with Pedro Valente. He said a few things which I found particularly insightful, and I hope to be able to internalized them. (I asked him if I could borrow the wisdom and relay it to others - he said yes).

People can be physically strong, yet lack confidence, because they are intellectually untrained.

People can be intellectually strong, but insecure because they are physically untrained.

People can be intellectually strong and physically trained, yet still insecure, because they are spiritually untrained.

An animal that lacks an ability to defend itself will have a deep-rooted subconscious psychological insecurity /anxiety. Even if that animal is as conscious as a human.

Power does not necessarily require physical strength. It can involve structural strength, and the use of momentum.

I am going back for a second class!

The Lone Holdout Juror in Lindsay Clancy is Not Only BLACK - He is a REPUBLICAN!!! The HORROR!

When I tell you Manny is stupid…

I don’t know if he does it because he’s fundamentally uncoordinated, or because he’s just a total goof who likes to throw his body around.

He literally runs into windows as though he’s trying to push himself off.

He runs into screens, apparently not seeing them.

And he literally falls over his own face when running and trying to maneuver.

not only that I capture at this time. I captured it in slow motion!

Look at the shock in his face after he face plants!

I cannot tell you how much I love this dog!

Scott Bessent is sitting in a restaurant. A woman stands up and says: "Let's raise our glasses to the man who is calmly eating while people all over the world are dying of hunger because of the sanctions he imposed. Sanctions that are an economic war."

Special Notices

A. Art of the Day
  • The Uknown Worker, the center of societal stability, the engine of the economy for all, the strength shaping military defense, captured in this portrait of Rand’s work by Tim Huhn. The buildings that reach to the skies, the trains that drive the landscape, the bridges that connect us together, the planes that uncover the world, made of hard materials by hard men that make for good times. Forger that and bad times come.
