Art of the Day: The Baptism of the Rus, a moment so monumental, they made literary traditions and even films about it. The fresco dons the St. Vladimir Cathedral…in Kiev. Prince Vladimir’s conversion to Orthodox Christianity aligned the eastern Slavs toward the west culturally and away from the east. Guess where they were baptized? In the Denier River in the heart of Ukraine.
